Wet your appetite with this exhibition of drawings based on the Brothers Grimm Juniper Tree. Visual aperitifs serve up this grisly tale of family cannibalism, set in a lush garden with a redemptive twist...These drawings act as a narrative cycle, and are the entree to a future performance. Storyteller- artist Kristin Herman has been a finalist in the James Wallace Art Awards, and was the first artist-in-residence at the Britomart City Artists’ Network Project in Auckland. She has been in a number of group and solo shows, as well as her art practice being the subject of two short films. Her recent performance project ‘Undergrowth’ was a collaborative multi-media adaptation of Hansel and Gretel, and was performed at the 2010 New Zealand and Hamilton Fringe Festivals. |
