Laser Cutting and Engraving
The laser cutting and engraving service in Auckland that we have provided so far, has been interesting and varied. From simple cutting of cardboard to form a contour model, funky jewellery and key tags out of acrylic, and engraving artwork onto leather for an exhibition. There are so many possibilities using a laser machine, and we do like experimenting. If you have an idea, but not sure what is involved in the process, feel free to make an inquiry. Confidentiality is assured.
Machine specifications are important as they are all different. The Modeltech laser cutting machine is an Epilog laser 45watt. Our bed is 610mm x 457mm. File formats that we like to use are Acrobat PDF, Illustrator EPS or Corel Draw. Some of the materials cut or engraved so far are: Plywood, Mdf, Card, Acrylic, Leather, Carpet and Foam.
If you don't have vector based artwork, but instead have a photo image or a sketch, for a small artwork fee we can prepare your design for laser cutting or engraving. We have a large stock of materials here, or you can bring your own to try. Contact us for further info on our services or call in to our studio to see some samples.
