Architectural Model Making

At Modeltech, we offer an architectural model making service in Auckland Central that brings together the right materials, colour and detail, to create a commercial model that meets any design brief. There are many considerations before starting a model, such as scale and form and how much detail is required. Our gallery shows the range of model making so far. Some are large scale, and others are smaller block form models that show a building as a concept.

We can provide a fast and efficient service, with regular contact with the client about the models progress. Any design issues can solved along the way. Two interesting projects so far have been a block form model (below) for Cook Sargisson Tarrant & Pirie Architects, as well as a historic model of the Hawera Post Office commissioned by the New Plymouth District Council. 

There are many different materials that can be used for model making, such as aircraft ply, perspex, plywood, and acrylic. Models can be stained, or painted or left in the natural material, depending on the finish required.
